certified and licensed by Mexico’s FDA, the COFEPRIS, to manage, manipulate, bank, and offer
allogentic as well as autologous stem cell therapies in Mexico.
Dra. Sylvia Abbitt, Managing Director, HEMATOLOGIA INTEGRAL Y ESTUDIOS ESPECIALIZADOR, S.C., VP
& Medical Director CANCUN STEM CELL CLINIC, INC. announced today (19 January 2009).
“Mexico’s “FDA”, COFEPRIS, approves “the Clinic’s” laboratory procedures, blood bank
management directives and treatment protocols submitted to COFEPRIS.
CSCC is a for profit, U.S. domiciled company and is not licensed to “do business”
in Mexico nor does it seek to do so. CSCC is, among other things, a stem cell patient management
firm. CSCC works in association with many groups around the world and specifically with
HEMATOLOGIA INTEGRAL Y ESTUDIOS ESPECIALIZADOS, S.C. (“HIEE”), a Mexican corporation, and its
owner, Dra. Sylvia Abbblitt. CSCC is the worldwide marketing agent for HIEE.
HIEE is directly and or
indirectly controlled by Mexican citizens, specifically Dra. Abblitt, not so with CSCC where
Dra. Abblitt, a Mexican citizen, is a major shareholder, though not a majority or controlling
stakeholder. In this context and for ease of these conversations we refer to the integrated
associative activities of these companies as “ ‘“the Clinic” IN CANCUN’. All medical licenses
and government approvals are held directly by Dra. Abblitt and/or for the benefit of HIEE.
Additionally, CSCC is in the business of conducting Phase I, II, & III clinical studies and other
ethical based research relating to human stem cells. CSCC welcomes doctors and scientist conducting
IRB approved clinical studies under ICH and FDA approved guidelines. CSCC’s strategic clinical
trials associate is STARK SMO, David Stark, President.
CSCC is indirectly in the business of merchant banking and as financial broker as one of our
principals is a managing director of IICC Tradeco, Houston, Texas.
CSCC affiliated facilities and physicians are fully licensed and accredited in Mexico and as such
practice medicine as established by law, regulations, and tradition in their home country. Others
associated with CSCC from around the globe are properly credentialed in their supporting roles.
While not a medical opinion, CSCC refers patients to clinicians who may be attempting medically
innovative stem-cell based interventions in a small number of their seriously ill patients.
Two types of patients fall into this category: When the illness is rare and thereby of little
interest to trial sponsors and where quality of life hurtles such as in children and families of
autistic children suffer. See for a discussion:
http://www.translational-medicine.com/content/5/1/30. While CSCC supports the courage of
such physicians, and physicians associate with CSCC may choose such therapies, CSCC screens patients
for appropriateness but neither diagnoses ailments nor prescribes therapies of any kind. While
conducting no business activities in Mexico, CSCC, is obviously associated with others who do.
Those so associated with CSCC follow medical and business practices strictly adhering to Mexican
regulations and traditions.
CSCC and or its assoicates’ plans include the construction and operation of a state-of-the-art
Good Laboratory Practices stem cell laboratory for the separation and multiplication of treatment
quality stem cells.
CSCC roll is to bring science to the doctor and hope to the patient.
The discovery of stem cells has brought about a big change in the way doctors practice modern
medicine. Now it is possible to actually replace the tissue of failing organs and to replace that
tissue with the same kind of cells that the organ contained in the beginning! Stem cells are primitive
cells with the power to re-form themselves. They respond to inflammation markers sent by injured
or diseased tissue so that they move exactly to the place they are needed and transform into exactly
the type of cellular tissue needed.
Hopefully every one of you visiting our site will gain an understanding that some form of stem
cell treatment or bone marrow infusion can improve not only the health of your own body but the
quality of your life as well.
